Why Standard Lab Work Leaves Gaps

Most women who get annual lab work through a conventional practice receive a fairly standard panel — a CBC, metabolic panel, cholesterol check, and maybe a TSH. That information is valuable but leaves enormous gaps. Hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, inflammatory markers, and early autoimmune signals are routinely missed when providers only run the minimum. At Elevate Health and Wellness, Kristy Beard, MSN, APRN, FNP-C takes a more thorough approach.

What Elevate's Women's Comprehensive Panel Includes

Our women's comprehensive lab panel evaluates complete blood count and metabolic function, a full thyroid panel including TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and thyroid antibodies, a complete hormone assessment covering estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, LH, and FSH, inflammatory markers including high-sensitivity CRP and homocysteine, vitamin and mineral levels including vitamin D, B12, folate, magnesium, zinc, and iron studies, HbA1c and fasting glucose for metabolic screening, and an advanced lipid panel.

Why Each Component Matters

Thyroid antibodies catch Hashimoto's years before TSH becomes abnormal. DHEA-S evaluates adrenal function. High-sensitivity CRP identifies chronic low-grade inflammation that dramatically increases cardiovascular and autoimmune risk. Vitamin D deficiency — extremely prevalent on the Gulf Coast despite abundant sunshine — affects immune function, mood, bone density, and cancer risk. Without testing for these markers specifically, these issues go undetected indefinitely.

Telehealth Lab Ordering Available

Lab panels can be ordered through a telehealth visit for patients across Mississippi and Alabama. Once results are in, Kristy reviews them with you in detail and builds a personalized care plan around what she finds — not just flags individual abnormal values.
